Webster defines salvation as "...the redemption of man from bondage of sin and liability to eternal death, and the conferring on him everlasting happiness. This is the great salvation." We all commit sin. No one who has ever walked the earth (except Jesus) is without sin. Sin separates us from God, and the price for our sins is eternal death. God loves us (yes, that includes YOU) and He is merciful. He sent Jesus to die in our place for our sins and 'pay the price' for ALL of us, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life (see John 3:16 ).
Now, despite our many imperfections, if we will just BELIEVE that God did this for us, we can have and enjoy life (John 10:10 ), not just on earth, but for eternity after this life has passed. Salvation means to save. Jesus is our Saviour -- saving us from eternal death. The salvation is there for the taking but we must recieve it by believing it in our heart and confessing it with our mouth. Folks... I can't tell you how important this is. If you have not recieved Jesus Christ into your heart and accepted salvation, please don't pass this article by. This is the single most important decision you will EVER make in your life. It is more important than where you live, who you marry, what career you choose, or anything else. Without salvation, your days are numbered. With it, they are infinite. I won't tell you in this writing all the ways God can change your life here on earth or how a relationship with Him will change the way you look at your world, even though these are important. Right now I just want you to understand that when your short time is up on this planet, you'll spend eternity with the consequences of this decision. Make it the right one. |
