The foundation of Christianity is the Bible.  If the Bible in my hands is the real-deal, the Word of God, then I have a super-natural instruction book for life.  Therefore, it is very important to determine if the Bible is reliable or not.

Some would like you to think that in order to be a Christian or have faith in God that you must first check your intelligence at the door.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  We were intelligently designed by an intelligent creator who made us nothing less than intelligent.  God has provided plenty of evidence to support the claims made by the Bible.  There isn't anything wrong with seeking some of this natural tangible evidence to support your faith.

When I first set out to learn "is the Bible real" I had two major questions: First, were the original writings truly the inspired word of God? And second, is the Bible we have today a reliable copy of what was originally written? 

Evidence that the Bible IS God-breathed
First, let's define what we're talking about.  The Bible is a collection of 66 books (39 Old Testament, 27 New Testament) written over a period of 1500 years by approximately 40 different authors of various backgrounds.  Right here is some good evidence!  How can 40 different authors over a period of 1500 years write a collection of work that is cross-supportive and doesn't contradict itself anywhere without divine intervention?

Another source of evidence for the divine inspiration of the Bible is its scientific accuracy.  Facts and principles such as the earth being round Isaiah 40:22 , earth being suspended in nothing Job 26:7 , valleys in the seas 2 Samuel 22:16 , sanitation Deuteronomy 23:12,13 , quarantine Leviticus 13:45-46 , and blood being the source of life Leviticus 17:11 were recorded in the Bible hundreds (sometimes thousands) of years before they were
